Ways to overcome meth addiction include: (Click a title to view more information.)
:: Detoxification
Most meth abusers want to stop. Many wake up daily saying today will be their last day to use. Although meth is considered one of the hardest addictions to beat, it can be overcome. In detox, withdrawal symptoms occur quickly and can result in severe cravings the physical anxiety and urge to use. The urge or cravings can become overwhelming, followed by symptoms such as anxiety, fatigue, irritability, and depression. That's because typical detox may eliminate meth from the body but doesn't restore the body's natural, healthy chemistry. To succeed, it is critical to reduce cravings. It is therefore important to supplement a successful detoxification with ongoing medical management and continuing care programs.
:: The Prometa® Treatment Program
This program is having a profound impact on the lives of many of our patients who are dependent on alcohol, cocaine or methamphetamine. Prometa is designed to help relieve cravings, improve cognitive function, restore nutritional balance and initiate psychosocial counseling.
This 8-week outpatient program includes non-addictive prescription medications and nutritional supplements, prescribed and overseen by a physician, coupled with an individualized psychological treatment plan.
:: Tailored Continuing Care
In order to achieve the best outcomes, any treatment program must continue to address the physiological, psychological, nutritional, spiritual and social aspects of addictive disease. It is the integration of these components that offers each patient the best opportunity to live a happy, rewarding life.
Our staff works with clients, families and their caregivers to develop individualized psychosocial treatment plans based on each person's needs and preferences. Every plan is tailored to incorporate the necessary tools to provide the best opportunity for continued success.
:: Intensive Outpatient Program*
For patients who would benefit from more intensive recovery work, the Center offers a 12-week Intensive Outpatient Program. Included in this program is an initial Psychosocial Assessment; two case management sessions; weekly drug screens; individual, group and family therapy sessions; and an optional 12-Step Facilitation Group.
* IOP services and length of treatment may vary in accordance with group volume and specific patient needs.
:: Group Therapy
For people addicted to meth, group therapy can be very helpful. It can help to realize that others share and understandg your problem. Many people benefit from both types of therapy, individual and group, to overcome their dependence on meth.
:: Relapse Prevention Program
Many of our treatment programs include a relapse prevention program. Effective relapse prevention programs generally combine two kinds of therapy:
:: Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MET)
MET helps people identify needs and goals and build motivation to change. This therapy takes place on an individual basis.
:: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Helps people develop relapse prevention skills. This therapy can take place in group or individual sessions, or both.
